TJ Warren and Jimmy Butler have had it with each other, and now with the stakes at an all-time high, it’s showtime.
The Miami Heat has had fun with the drama, but now it’s time to get serious. Inside the bubble, the Heat and the Pacers faced each other twice — the first being a blowout, and the second being a game that lacked each team’s best players. That was when Derrick Jones Jr was taken off the court on a stretcher. It turns out he might be healed from his neck injury as soon as Game 2. Meanwhile, the Pacers are dealing with their own pain.
It was the second game before the restart when Warren and Butler got into their altercation. That incident featured chat, a few shoves and a blown kiss — but after the game the drama spilled over to social media. After the ejection of Warren, the Heat went on to win easily. Butler blasted Warren, saying he wasn’t in his league and that he is garbage. Butler backed it up, even though Warren was viewed league-wide as the “Bubble MVP.” The Heat cruised in the third matchup, winning 114-92.
The Heat will take this series in ease due to how shorthanded the Pacers as of now with all-star forward Domantas Sabonis ruled out indefinitely. That’s not all; their other all-star, Victor Oladipo, has decided to not go to Orlando to help his family. For the cherry on top, Pacers hot hand TJ Warren is dealing with plantar fasciitis. It’s a good matchup when everyone is healthy, but that isn’t happening here. The series will start today at 4 pm EST.
