Game 6, 2013

2013, Game 6. You know when you watch something and you think to yourself and say “I will never forget this.” Well, I don’t think anyone is forgetting this anytime soon.      28.2 seconds left and trailing by 5 the heat needed a magical moment with Lebron with the ball in his hands he chucks up a desperation shot and sent the ball way over the hoop and almost missed the rim, and at this point you would think it’s over. But no, the miraculous Mike Miller grabs the board over all the San Antonio players crammed next to the hoop. Mike then kicks it back out to Lebron and he sinks the shot cause it’s Lebron James. The next chapter in NBA history is starting now. Down by two the Heat needed to get a quick foul. The ball found Kawhi Leonard’s hands and he was instantly fouled. Kawhi was a star the whole series even playing through a hurt knee. The Spurs just needed his athleticism. Erik Spoelstra said that “Miami charted Leonard’s rebounds during those seven games — somehow, he caught every rebound that touched his fingers except for two.” Now not only the game but the NBA season was lying in Kawhi’s hands. The crowd was roaring as he shot his first free throw, and HE MISSED! He continued to hit the second shot so the Heat were now trailing by 3. I think we all know what happens next. The confidence in Spoelstra was incredible. He was so confident this play would work and made the rest of the players believe that too. “James catches, puts up a 3, won’t go. Rebound Bosh. Back out to Allen. His 3-pointer. Bang!”
